What does this mean for the organisation and its service delivery?

Tāngata Whaiora

We are keeping our Tāngata Whaiora safe during COVID!! Tāngata Whaiora are at the heart of our service and working to keep them safe is our top priority through whatever level. Our keep support includes:

  • Ensuring that the basic hygiene guidelines such as hand washing, coughing into the elbow, and keeping social distances are routine. 

  • Ensuring they receive a COVID19 Test

  • Providing access to flu vaccination if needed;

  • Ensuring they are enrolled with a PHO GP service;

  • Provide all our homes with PPE, hand sanitisers, and hygiene packs.

  • Ensuring that their homes are sustainable in terms of food and supplies, should lock down occur. 

Head Office

  • All staff to work from home in isolation until further notice.

  • Full COVID-19 control measures are in place such as the use of disposable face masks, gloves, hand sanitisers and the use of the Ministry's Contact Tracing app.  

  • The protocols and guidelines of the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Waitematā District Health Board (WDHB) and the Trust's Pandemic Plan are being strictly followed.

Residential Services

 

  • All whare are in full lockdown without any community engagement and will remain onsite until further notice.

  • Staff are working the live-in roster.

  • All shopping and necessary requirements are to be managed via Head Office (Administration).

  • Any reviews or scheduled health care requirements are to be conducted via zoom or telephone. 

  • The sites are fully provisioned with food and requisite Infection Control resources such as PPE's, hand sanitisers and the use of the Ministry's Contact Tracing app. 

  • The protocols and guidelines of the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Waitematā District Health Board (WDHB) and the Trust's Pandemic Plan are being strictly followed.

Planned Adult Respite 

 

  • The whare remains fully accessible by referring clinical team.

  • The clinical teams will  manage the entry process with testing and assessment questions regarding COVID-19.

  • Respite Staff are working to the roster 24/7.

  • Respite Staff are to ensure masks are worn at all times – and gloves where applicable

  • All shopping and necessary requirements are to be managed via Head Office (Administration).

  • Any site visits are to be conducted in the garage – no visitors are to pass beyond the garage, including clinical teams unless in an emergency.

  • All client handovers from clinical into Respite are to be conducted in the garage – all visitors are required to scan in the NZCOVID Tracer Sign which is available (including manual signing process) along with gloves and masks.

  • The sites are fully provisioned with food and requisite Infection Control resources such as PPE's, hand sanitisers and the use of the Ministry's Contact Tracing app.

Community Services

  • All staff are working from home in isolation – phone management/contact with Tangata Whaiora only until further notice.

  • Nga Parirau will be reduced to skeleton staff and will only be able to respond to non critical matters of urgency.

  • Medication supervision is being managed. 

  • All programs cancelled until further notice - Programmes Coordinator will engage online via the FB page - keep an eye out.
